Mike is a keen Sheffield Eagles fan whose greatest moment was following the team to Wembley in 1998 to see them lift the Challenge Cup! He has strong links with grassroots having played and coached at amateur level over a number of years, most recently for the Sheffield Forgers in the Kukri Midlands League.
