Kukri and St Paul's Catholic School in Richmond, Nelson have partnered up to make the girl's netball team stand out in the crowd.
Last year their Intermediate Netball Girls decided they wanted to upgrade their tired 'old school' pleated maroon skirts for something a bit more modern, practical and smart.
A school spokesperson commented: "We started fundraising by doing catering at the Netball courts on Saturdays - selling soup, filled rolls, cakes and coffee etc...and raised enough money to kit out our three senior teams. One of our school mums got us onto Mark at Kukri and after heaps of shopping around we were rapt to find a NZ company that could help us design our own dresses, in whatever colours or style we wanted, with the school logo stitched on for a similar price to that of other companies with off the rack, limited styles."
She added: "What's more the quality is awesome, Mark was great and the dresses were deilvered on time!The girls are over the moon and feel pretty special in their new dresses....the juniors are hanging out for their turn...looks like more fundraising at the courts next Saturday!
